Seven years ago, I started a holiday lights business to connect with people and warm their hearts. My first client was in Pacific Palisades. And many more! This was between my gigs as the Men’s Wearhouse spokesman on TV. When I wasn’t saying, “You’re going to like the way you look,” on set, I brightened clients’ homes and left their children’s hearts aglow. It was a good life.

After years in LA and NYC, followed by a short stint in Aspen during COVID, I finally decided to make Idaho my home in 2020, while still maintaining the client list in the Palisades. Ever since, I’ve been a regular and volunteer at the SV Film Festival, ski pass holder, hiker, and eaten many a Grumpy burger. Meanwhile, the seasonal lights business in the Palisades continued to grow… until the fates struck again.

Business went up in smoke. When the fire hit, I was headed up the hill on Sunset. I called every client to see how I could help—move their belongings, art, pets, etc. It went so fast and was beyond traumatic. I gathered donations for N95 masks for residents and checked on clients’ properties during the days that followed. All while trying to figure out the next move.
